This Pulitzer Prize winning drama explores a family mourning the loss of a child in a silence that’s unbearably loud. We learn that the only way we can protect ourselves is not to hide behind ourselves behind shut doors and ignore the world around us while we sulk in our own grief but rather to welcome the world and all it has to offer with open arms and when tragedy occurs, make ourselves more able to cope with these things and comfort others when hard times befall them.

The real story behind Dickens’ A Christmas Carol—the story of Jacob Marley’s heroic behind-the-scenes efforts to save old Scrooge’s soul—and in the process, save his own. Aided by a Bogle, a malicious little hell-sprite with an agenda of his own, their hilarious journey takes them from the Jaws of Death to the Mouth of Hell—and beyond! This irreverent, funny, and ultimately, deeply moving story retells Dickens’ classic with warmth and infectious zest.
