We are now accepting proposals for plays for our 2010-2011 season. Anyone wishing to direct at Footlighters may submit proposals for plays for us to perform.

Our typical season consists of:

• 3 comedies

• a large musical

• a mystery, suspense, "thriller", or "dramedy"

• a "wild card", which could be another comedy, a small musical, a Christmas show, a drama, a children's show, or ???

We also optionally have winter and summer fundraisers, which have been music revues and original plays, but could be something else as well.

Our rules for submittal are:

1. If you have any calendar restrictions on when you could direct shows, please mention that, and we will take that into account when scheduling plays.

2. Except for the fundraisers, we prefer shows with a cast of at least 6 actors.

3. If you have a script (or CD for musicals) of your shows that we can borrow (it will be returned!), please let us know. If you don't, also let us know so we can order them in time to fairly evaluate your submissions.

4. Please do not submit any show that Footlighters has performed in the last 10 years. For your convenience, a list of these shows is included in the application form, and is also viewable on the website.

5. If you have not directed recently at Footlighters, we may wish to interview you about your production plans if your show reaches the final selections.

The deadline for submittal is October 15th, 2009. Please e-mail your submittals to hughabbott2000@yahoo.com, or postal-mail or hand-deliver it to Footlighters Theater, 58 Main Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312. Make sure deliveries are addressed to the Theatre Arts Committee.

Note that Footlighters does expect directors to have some previous experience. If you have not directed before, don't despair! Assistant-directing at Footlighters will give you the experience to become a lead director, and we are always looking for more people to join our production staffs. Contact us for more information.
