Volunteer Opportunities

Love theater? Get involved!

 

Footlighters Theater is a community theater – that means that we are all volunteers! Acting, backstage, crew, tickets, hospitality and more.  We would love to have you as part of the theater!

Performing! – Performers work on a volunteer basis.  All of our auditions are open to the general public!

Directing – Directing a performance at Footlighters requires previous experience and a willingness to invest a large amount of time and energy. If you have not directed before, we will give you an opportunity to Assistant Direct on a show so you can obtain the experience!

Costumes – including construction, locating or making use of existing costumes, and fitting costumes to each performer. You would work closely with the Director to design looks for each character in the show. People are also needed to assist performers with costume changes.

Lights –  lighting design and running lighting equipment.  You would work closely with the Director to create the look and feel for each scene of the production.  No experience with lighting? We will train!

Sound – sound design and running sound equipment. You would work closely with the Director to create the soundstage for each scene of the production. No experience with sound design or running the equipment? We will train!

Make-Up – make-up design and assisting performers with make-up application. You would work closely with the Director to design looks for each character in the show.

Set Design –  the design and architecture of sets. You would work closely with the Director to create the look and feel for each scene of the production.

Set Construction – building sets and assisting with building. General carpentry skills are a plus. Painting as well.

Props – making and acquiring props for a performance.

Back Stage – serving as Stage Manager, opening and closing the curtain, assisting with set and costume changes, and any additional help needed back stage.

Ushers – Ushering involves the collection of tickets as well as directing and assisting patrons to their seats.  Ushers may have the opportunity to view the performance if space allows.

Graphic Designer – assistance with the website look and feel as well as designing program and advertisement art.
